Texas Instruments INA190/INA190-Q1 Current-Shunt Monitors provide overcurrent protection, and precision current measurement for system optimization, or in closed-loop feedback circuits. These voltage-output monitors can sense drops across shunts at common-mode voltages from –0.2V to +40V, independent of the supply voltage. The INA190/INA190-Q1 features five fixed gain options of 25V/V, 50V/V, 100V/V, 200V/V, or 500V/V. The INA190/INA190-Q1 offers a low input bias current, permitting the use of larger current-sense resistors. This allows accurate current measurements in the microamp range.

The dynamic range of the current measurement is extending by the use of the low offset voltage in the zero-drift architecture enabling smaller sense resistors with lower power loss. The INA190/INA190-Q1 Monitors operate from a single 1.7V to 5.5V power supply and draw a maximum of 65µA of supply current when enabled, with only 0.1µA when disabled. Additional features include an extended operating temperature range of –40°C to +125°C and a low offset voltage of ±15µV (Max). The INA190-EP devices have gold bond wires, a temperature range of –55 to +105°C, and an SnPb lead finish. The INA190-Q1 devices are AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.
